Ugh.  Still with this?!  Well, it sounds like the hosts of a local Detroit morning radio show were talking smack about Aquaman — you know, the tired old “talks to fish” b.s. that’s plagued the character for decades, despite the fact that his comic book currently outsells Superman’s and The Flash’s and he even recently got a second title.  But still, all any non-comic fan can come up with is “he talks to fish!”

Well, an anonymous caller attempted to quell that noise.  A caller by the name of Zack phoned in to give his two cents and stated the following:

“You guys were disparaging, a little bit, Aquaman… I don’t want to give anything away about the movie or anything like that but… Aquaman has some cool abilities. People are like, ‘Oh what? Does he talk to animals? Because that seems like what he does. Or fish, or whatever?’

The cool thing with Aquaman is his trident – people don’t realize that can actually cut the flesh of Superman if they came in contact. That’s a thing that’s in the canon. And he’s super strong, because of course he can exist at these super deep depths so when he comes up here he’s like… he’s crazy strong. Anyway, not to say he’s in my movie or anything like that but… he has the potential to be bad ass, that’s all I’m saying.”

You can listen to the exchange here:

The caller is assumed to be Zack Snyder, the director of ‘Batman V. Superman’ which is currently filming in the vicinity of Detroit.  Aquaman has been rumored to be in the movie in a limited role, portrayed by Jason Momoa from ‘Game of Thrones’ and the actor has been spotted recently in the area.  (Working out in the same facility as Gal Gadot, who is playing Wonder Woman.)

It’s long been rumored that Aquaman will at least make a cameo in the film, though no one will confirm it.  Other than him, Wonder Woman and Cyborg are confirmed.  There has been speculation that additional DC heroes may appear, including Nightwing, but so far there has been no official statement as to that.
