With SDCC already in full swing, one of early pieces of information coming out is the official logo for ‘Warcraft‘ being revealed as well as three of the weapon props from the film being on display! Legendary Pictures is going to be massively pushing this film and the weapons are just as ornately detailed as you would expect from something out of the world that Blizzard has built. Though, I’m sure many of the gamers who sees that logo above might be drawing more comparisons to the ‘Starcraft’ logo over any of the traditional ‘Warcraft’ ones.
So, what weapons do they have on display to share with you? Three actually and they are the ones listed below!
- Doomhammer – “A savage orc weapon unleashed in the name of the Horde”
- Dragon Sword – “This gleaming blade is wielded in the name of the Alliance”
- Lion Shield – “Symbol of the strength of Azeroth”
Before I go any further you can check out the weapons themselves right here:
While the sword and shield are pretty standard weapons for the Alliance, the Doomhammer is something special all on its own and I’m happy to see that it will be making an appearance in the film. In video game lore, the Doomhammer is passed from father to son in the family line of the Doomhammer clan and the following prophecy is attached to it: “The last of the Doomhammer line will use it to bring first salvation and then doom to the orc people. Then it will pass into the hands of one who is not of the Blackrock clan, all will change again, and it will once again be used in the cause of justice.” Over time this proves true and it’ll be interesting to see if this is factored in when the Orcs meet Humanity in the upcoming film.

‘Warcraft’ stars Ben Foster, Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Toby Kebbell, Rob Kazinsky, Dominic Cooper, Daniel Wu and Clancy Brown. It’s set to be released in 2D and 3D on March 11th, 2016.
