I’m only going to say this once — there are some potentially huge spoilers within!

We’ve already heard rumors that Negan would be making an appearance on ‘The Walking Dead‘ and now in a recent interview executive producer Scott M. Gimple confirmed that he will indeed appear! On a recent special of ‘The Talking Dead’ which aired during an AMC ‘The Walking Dead’ marathon titled “Dead, White, And Blue,” Gimple talked about upcoming season 5 details and the subject of Negan came up.

On the show host Chris Hardwick was talking to Gimple as well as Aisha Tyler (‘Archer’) about the show in general. While not much came up recently, rumors did come up and Gimple said that his favorite rumor was “the recent one that John Hamm was going to play Negan, who is a character coming up.” Hardwick jumped on this and pushed if Negan was actually coming and Gimple finally responded with, “Well, coming up eventually. We’re doing the comic.”

Wow, a direct answer that if they follow the story will lead to a horrible death for Glenn. So how will they introduce a villain who enjoys swearing almost every other word? Hardwick asked on that too and Gimple slyly said that “I think if people could hit their cable operators and make AMC a pay network just in time.” I’m sure we’ll just be getting a watered down version of the character, at least on swearing.

The main thing that we should be focused on right now, though, is Terminus as that is where we left off with most of the main characters. As Gimple revealed, the next season is going to start off “very, very, very, very intense, and then there’s a left-hand turn. And then it gets very, very intense, and then there’s a left-hand turn.” That’s a lot of left hands. As Rick loses his right hand in the comic I don’t think they are going in that direction with the comments either.

According to Lauren Cohan, when we see the return of the series  it will “basically it’s do or die. The group has to be so resourceful and so brutal to get out of this situation. You get to see members of the group that didn’t even know they were badass get to be badass.” Now that is something to look forward to!

Alanna Masterson helped solidify that fun little view by saying that “If you put a bunch of psychopaths in one [train] car, inevitably something terrible is going to happen. So I don’t think they realize how crazy each one of us is, and then together it’s just going to be like a giant atomic bomb … don’t do it.”

Steven Yeun talked a little about Glenn’s relationship with Maggie but followed that up with “Terminus is a little wonky” before hugging Hardwick and giving a thumbs-up. I hope this has nothing to do with the rumor of Glenn Dying.

Speaking of Terminus, we’ll also find a bit about their leader Garth. According to the actor who portrays him, Andrew West:

“Personally I don’t know that I would call him a natural-born leader. He’s maybe somebody who’s grown into that role a little bit. I would say he definitely falls way more toward the Rick end of the spectrum. The way that they envisioned this character is that he was a mirror image of Rick or even Glenn, you know, if they had a different history. A reasonable, normal guy just figuring out a way to survive. … You’re going to meet a real person. He’s not a one-dimensional character. You’re going to get another perspective from Garth on what the world is now. That is one of my favorite things about this character, is that you get this whole different window into what this world is, what it can be, what it has become.”

Anything you need to tell yourself about being a cannibal West?
