Things didn’t look especially great at the end of this past season of The CW’s ‘Supernatural’ as Dean, the older of the two Winchester brothers appeared to die in his brother Sam’s arms and be re-animated by Crowley (who is becoming a series regular next season) as a demon, black eyes and all.  The perennial hit is launching its tenth season on October 7th with an episode ominously entitled ‘Soul Survivor’.  That’s not all.  The show will be adding a mysterious female character to the mix.

Now the show is largely testosterone driven, with only a few female recurring characters, but it will be adding one more in the form of a character named Rowena.  The network describes her as a “tough but elegant woman who will stop at nothing to reclaim her power base” and they are searching for an actress that is either Scottish or that can fake a Scottish accent.

There’s really no more information than that given.  Will she be an ally or a foe of the Winchesters?  That remains to be seen.

We’re still many months away from the return of ‘Supernatural’ so news is only faintly trickling out about the new season.  (I blame SDCC, as most networks, film studios and comic publishers withhold information until that event.)

But at any rate, are you intrigued that a new female character will be making an appearance on the show?  Would you rather see Charlie back? Sound off below!
