With a bombardment of news popping up about ‘Star Wars: Episode VII‘ things have been quiet on the ‘Star Wars Rebels‘ front, that is until the latest rumor about who will be voicing The Inquisitor. Currently it sounds like Jason Isaacs (‘Rosemary’s Baby‘, ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2’) will be taking on the role of the villain in the latest Star Wars cartoon and if rumors for the upcoming film prove to be true, it’ll be adding major foreshadowing and clues of things to come!
When asked about the role Lucasfilm has not responded though Disney XD has stated that “We don’t have any additional casting announcements on ‘Star Wars Rebel’s to make at this time.” As it isn’t a straight out denial or confirmation, it is hard to tell for sure. What lends some credibility to the rumor is that at the end of the most recent trailer (which you can check out below) it does sound like it could be Isaacs when listening to it:
“Star Wars Rebels” continues the epic tradition of the legendary Star Wars saga with all-new exciting, action-packed adventures. It is a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its grip of power from world to world. As the series begins, Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people. The clever and motley crew of the starship Ghost is amongst a select few who are brave enough to stand against the Empire. Together, this ragtag group will face threatening new villains, encounter colorful adversaries, embark on thrilling adventures and become heroes with the power to ignite a rebellion.”
The thing about voice actors, though, is that they can change their voices around so it’s hard to tel,l but I think this is one rumor we’ll see confirmed in the near future!
