My first impression of the gameplay of ‘Destiny’ from Activision and Bungie, which was about a minute and a half in, was that this will be one epic FPS.

The graphics are smooth, seamless, and the attention to detail and quality of the imagery is very impressive. Weapon changes are quick, as are reloads (even for revolvers) scoping looks visually sound too. Hand to hand and melee seem natural and intuitive.
The world you travel in is sprawling, and huge. The  landscapes are well thought out and look amazing. I’m a fan of co-op capability in games, and ‘Destiny’ delivers. The gameplay trailer below shows a co-op mission to “Devils Lair.” I’m looking forward to getting my hands on this one. Good news for E3 attendees! The game will be playable to all this summer.

Activition has revealed that GameStop Power Up Rewards members that pre-order Destiny will receive the GameStop exclusive vehicle, the Upgraded Sparrow. (Image below)

Upgraded Sparrow in Destiny.

This customized in-game, red-colored personal-transport features an upgraded boost, faster speed, and higher durability than the standard Sparrow.

The story, which to me is very important in a quality game, comes from the ‘Destiny’ site.

“Our Golden Age: Everything changed with the arrival of the Traveler. Long ago, it breathed new life into our system. Rain washed over Mars. Fresh air cleansed the skies over Venus. Soon after, humanity raced into the black, and colonized these newly remade worlds. It was a time of miracles – a great Golden Age. It did not last. The Traveler had an ancient enemy. A powerful darkness that found us here on Earth, and nearly destroyed us. No one knows exactly what happened in those final moments, but we know this: we survived, and we owe our lives to the Traveler. In our darkest days, Humans, Exos, and Awoken found the Traveler where it made its last stand, low above Earth, silent and immobile. We built the City – our last – within its protective veil, fighting countless wars to keep its peace. From that dark age, Guardians were born.”
