You know the young adult genre is hot when ‘Seeker’ by Arwen Elys Dayton is being turned into a film and the novel won’t even be released until 2015! While it seems a bit early for such a purchase, the plot itself does sound interesting.

Who will be turning the upcoming novel into a screenplay? Callie Kloves who is an up and coming writer that just finished a script for ‘The Jungle Book’ and also happens to be the daughter of Steve Kloves who was responsible for the ‘Harry Potter’ screenplays. Mark Gordon (‘Saving Private Ryan’,’Crininal Minds’) has been tapped as the film’s producer for Sony so things are moving forward and I’m almost thinking at this point we may even hear casting rumors before the novel comes out!

The story revolves around a young woman named Quin Kincaid in a world full of science fiction and fantasy. She has trained her entire life and “has been put through years of brutal training for what she thinks is the noble purpose of becoming a revered ‘Seeker.’ Only when it’s too late does she discover she will be using her new found knowledge and training to become an assassin.”

As an assassin she will be quite a globetrotter and will be travelling around the world from a remote area of Scotland to a futuristic Hong Kong. All I know is that if the book is successful and does it end up as a trilogy, chances are we’ll be seeing four films to round out the story. I mean we’ve already seen the ‘Divergent‘, ‘The Hunger Games, ‘Harry Potter’, and ‘Twilight’ franchises do it so I wouldn’t say it is far fetched to see another as well.

What do you think about the plot for ‘Seeker’? Does it sound like something that might be interesting enough to drag you in? Share your thoughts below!
