June 27th might seem a million years away with how many genre films will be coming out between now and the release of ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction‘, but the latest TV spot really is working at grabbing your attention.

While you aren’t going to be seeing much in the way of new footage, this is probably one of the better paced TV spots to focus on action that has been released as of yet as we peer in on Mark Wahlberg  finding out that he just purchased an Autobot which immediately leads into action. A whole lot of robot on robot action! That almost sounds dirty but any fan of the franchise knows that I mean. Giant robots fighting over the fate of mankind. I’m still not fully sold on the idea that Optimus has just been travelling around as a truck without a case in the world so I hope Michael Bay (‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’, ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles‘) really gives us some solid reasoning behind this that I can get behind.

Again there really isn’t anything new here but just a reminder that this will be a huge summer action packed blockbuster. The first three installments from the trilogy really can’t be taken as much more than popcorn flicks as the visuals are always fantastic and the story is really just there to move us to the fight sequences. With Marky Mark in as the lead actor will there be a chance this will get shaken up and we’ll be getting some actual plot added? It really is too early to tell but I really am curious about the Dinobots.

What do you think of the latest trailer for the film? Are you excited for its release? If so, are you more excited for a glimmer of hope of a plot or just for the special effects extravaganza that we know this will end up being? Share your thoughts below!

‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ stars Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing, and Titus Welliver and will be in theaters on June 27, 2014.
