With Gareth Edwards’ upcoming ‘Godzilla‘ reboot stomping onto screens on May 16th, 2014 there isn’t much time to get more advertising in on the film. Thankfully today for those of you who can’t wait (like myself) we have a new photo and poster from the film. More importantly, we have two new featurettes to showcase bringing the movie to life! While I had originally been iffy hearing that a new ‘Godzilla’ film was in the works, I’m pretty sure most of you will agree with me by now that the trailers for the film are promising to deliver us a near unstoppable force of nature – exactly as he should be!

First up of course will be the two promotional images for the film. The poster itself is Godzilla in a very minimalist design. While I love minimalist art in general and on posters, I almost feel that this one needs something more. Maybe something to put our favorite monster in perspective?

The photograph below doesn’t really need more as we’re seeing the exact kind of terror coming from his rampaging that you would expect: people fleeing and an ineffective military response. Just what I have a feeling we’ll be seeing a ton of on screen very soon!

Next up is not one but two featurettes on the film with director Gareth Edwards! The first featurette is Gareth talking about getting the call for being able to do the movie while the second is how he started out on the task of rebooting such an iconic presence.

What do you think of his thoughts on bringing Godzilla to life? Are you excited for the film’s release? Share your thoughts below!

‘Godzilla’ starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn, Bryan Cranston, and Sally Hawkins hits theaters on May 16, 2014 in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D.
