Hot Toys Thaws More Captain America

Man, Hot Toys really doesn’t play around when it comes to producing lifelike renditions of your favorite characters in 1/6th scale figure form! Continuing their run of superb figures based on Marvel Studios ‘Captain America: The Winter Solider’, Hot Toys brings us two brand new figures of our titular hero himself, Captain America! Although they aren’t quite both our masked hero, both of them really look to capture the essence of the character perfectly!
First up we’ve got Captain America in his brand-spanking new Stealth S.T.R.I.K.E. Suit as seen in the recent film! This costume is based pretty heavily on the costume Cap wore in the comics when he was gallivanting around as ‘just Steve’ and heading up SHIELD after his apparent ‘death’. The figure looks to come with Cap, his iconic shield, and a ton of extra hands for a full range of poses! The full release is below:

“I joined S.H.I.E.L.D. to protect people.” Marvel Studios’ latest superhero hit – Captain America: The Winter Soldier has already started landing in theatres around the world and has took the top box office spot in many opening countries! In this exciting film, Captain America has joined S.H.I.E.L.D. and teamed up with Black Widow and Falcon to battle dangerous threats. Hot Toys is thrilled to present the highly-anticipated new 1/6th scale Captain America Collectible Figure in Stealth S.T.R.I.K.E. suit.

Next up we’ve got a bit more of the same and a whole lot of different! Hot Toys just announced this sweet new figure two-pack of plain-clothes Steve Rogers with Captain America in his Stealth S.T.R.I.K.E. suit! While the Captain America Stealth S.T.R.I.K.E. suit figure doesn’t look too different from the regular stand-alone release, this plain clothes Steve Rogers figure looks to make all the difference to collectors! This set is the only way to get the unmasked Steve Rogers head (and trust me, in the new flick he has his mask off constantly, so you’re going to want this to make your figure perfect!), both damaged and undamaged shields, a ton of hands for either version of our hero, and an exclusive 1/6th scale Captain America Mask accessory that cannot be obtained anywhere else! The full release is below for your reading pleasure:

“The price of freedom is high… and it’s a price I’m willing to pay!” Marvel Studios’ latest superhero hit – Captain America: The Winter Soldier is sweeping theatres around the world and has been well received by fans and critics in many opening countries! In this exciting film, Captain America has joined S.H.I.E.L.D. and teamed up with Black Widow and Falcon to battle dangerous threats and confront the mysterious Winter Soldier. Hot Toys is proud to present a special collectible figures set which includes the highly anticipated new 1/6th scale Captain America in Stealth S.T.R.I.K.E. suit and Steve Rogers Collectible Figure.

The movie-accurate Captain America collectible is specially crafted based on the image of Chris Evans as Captain America in his Stealth S.T.R.I.K.E. suit in the film. It features a brand new helmeted head sculpt, finely tailored costume with embossed patterns, and a specially-made light blue metal shield.

More MOTUC Chase Figures This Year?

Mattel just gave Masters of the Universe Classics fans a huge update to keep them on the lookout for an all new chase figure two pack that will be available exclusively through MattyCollector.com! The trick though, is that this elusive two-pack will only be available sporadically throughout the year on a random timeline! That’s one way for Mattel to keep MOTUC fans on their toes! The full update from Mattel is below:

Last year we introduced the first ever MOTUC “chase” figure, Spirit of Hordak™. Fans never knew when he would pop up for sale, adding even more excitement to toy collecting. This year we’ve got the perfect choice for our 2014 chase figure… Loo-Kee™, the master of hide and seek!

This member of the Conceal species arrives packaged with Kowl™, the Eternian know-it-all. Just like last year, fans won’t know in advance when these two will appear. What we can tell you is that they’ll be available only to subscribers during Early Access in our 4/15 sale, and again only to subscribers during Early Access in our December sale. The rest of the year they’ll pop up unannounced several times, giving all fans the chance to purchase them. These appearances will not be publicized… whenever this special logo appears in the Shop, they’re available for sale. (But act fast, because they could disappear just as quickly!)

What’s the moral of this story? It pays to keep your eyes open and watch for these 2014 chase figures!

DC Collectibles Details Batman The Animated Series Villains

Fans of the DC Comics and Warner Brothers iconic ‘Batman The Animated Series’ were ecstatic in February when DC Collectibles announced they would be doing an antire line of six-inch scale figures based on the classic show! Initially, DC Collectibles previewed the Batman and Catwoman figures from the new toyline, but mentioned they would also be doing figures based on villains Two-Face and MR. Freeze as well in the early waves of the series. Well now it looks like DC Collectibles is ready to give us our first look at these villainous figures, and wow do they look phenomenal!
Like our earlier Batman figure, Two-Face is based off of the 1997 design. He’ll feature multiple accessories, all of which were seen in the episode “Sins of the Father.” He features 17 points of articulation. You’re going to want this one, so we don’t suggest deciding whether to buy this action figure or not with a coin flip. At least, not without making “your own luck.”
Also based off of the 1997 redesign, Mr. Freeze will feature two “cool” accessories (yeah, yeah, we went there: his freeze gun and his robot spider legs from the episode “Cold Comfort.” He also features a whopping 26 points of articulation.
With all of the Batman: The Animated Series action figures, the goal is to give them as much articulation as possible without jeopardizing the art style’s aesthetics. The DC Collectibles team is continuing to use the original character design sheets used by the animators, to ensure these figures are as accurate as possible. All of the figures are in the 1/12th or 6-inch scale and will be accurately scaled in relation to Batman.
And with that, Toy News Tuesday is sadly at a close. At least for this week anyway! Be sure to stay tuned for next weeks all new edition! There’s sure to be a whole slew of cool new stuff coming down the pipeline! Until then, don’t forget to check out some of Science Fiction’s other awesome articles to keep yourself in the know!
