After an awesome episode of ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ last week featuring Lady Sif, unfortunately we’re faced with another brief hiatus from the antics of Agent Phil Coulson and his team. However, Marvel Studios and ABC will be airing a very special documentary special titled ‘Marvel Studios: Assembling A Universe’ in it’s place. And while we’ll have to live without our favorite secret-keeping organization that isn’t running our country, we do get the pleasure of laying eyes on some sneak peeks at Marvel’s upcoming Phase Two films ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy, and ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’.

On last night’s ‘Marvel: Assembling A Universe’, some special images were revealed of Glenn Close as Nova Prime in James Gunn’s highly anticipated space adventure. You can also check out new looks at Drax the Destroyer, Ronan the Accuser, Star-Lord, and the Collector.

Take a look in the gallery below, followed by the official synopsis of the film:

Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand – with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ starring Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Benicio Del Toro, and Michael Rooker blasts off on August 1st, 2014.
