We’ve got some casting news for Marvel’s ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ as they have signed on Adrian Pasdar (‘Heroes‘, ‘Near Dark’) to play Major Glenn Talbot in at least one upcoming episode of the show. Talbot is described to be an antagonist that harasses Coulson’s team and as asdar puts it “Every show needs a jerk. I guess I’m that guy.”

Right now Major Glenn Talbot is only set for one episode of the show but according to Pasdar, “As willing as I am to jump when Jeph [Loeb, Marvel TV president] calls, there had to be a little bit more in it than just an episode for me. I can’t say much more but the mustache is in a locker and it’s being taken out and prepped as we speak for next week.”

While his first episode as Talbot is set to air in April, this isn’t’ the first time Major Glenn Talbot has popped up in the Marvel Universe. In fact, for those of you who know your Hulk history, you may remember the name as he was General Thaddeus E. “Thunderbolt” Ross’s right hand man for quite some time ago. He was so sold on Ross’s anti-Hulk position that he ended up committing treason in order to steal a highly classified weapon to irradiate the Hulk and ended up dying in his greatest failure yet at trying to take Banner’s life.

What does this say about where we will see more of him? Could a ‘Hulk’ movie or episodes of S.H.I.E.L.D. referencing him be in the works? It’s easy to speculate but as he has primarily been involved with Banner in the comics, it is an easy conclusion to jump to. If you fast forward far enough to the modern day Hulk comics, Banner is working for S.H.I.E.L.D. directly in both forms so that is something to keep in mind as well.

While not a major player in the Marvel Universe (he is dead and all) Talbot is another name from its history being brought forth by the series. Are you excited to see him pop up? Do you think this could lead to some gamma related activities? Share your thoughts below true believers!
