Conventions are a great way for fans to get up close and personal with some of the cast, crew, and creators of their favorite movies, TV shows, and comic books. One of the best cons for this sort of thing (especially if you can’t make it to or are very overwhelmed by one of the big ones like San Diego Comic Con and New York Comic Con) is Wizard World, a traveling convention that visits some of the biggest cities in the country with some of the biggest names in entertainment. And over the past few years, the names have gotten bigger. At the most recent Wizard World in Sacramento, ‘The Avengers’ and ‘Thor: The Dark World’ star Chris Hemsworth was among the stars on their guest list and he even participated in a Q&A where he briefly spoke about his next project, ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’.
During Q&A, the God of Thunder shed some light on his next trip to Midgard when he once again reassembles with his teammates under the guidance of Joss Whedon. First, he talked about how much bigger everything has gotten since we’ve last seen Earth’s Mightiest Heroes:
“Everything in [‘Age of Ultron’] is ramped up, though. It kind of blew me away reading [the script]. I don’t know how Joss [Whedon] does it, but everyone has gone up another notch and the whole thing is bigger and more exciting and crazier. Yeah, he’s a genius.”
Then, Hemsworth mentioned his shooting schedule and revealed that while the film has been in production for a bit already, most of the cast won’t be brought in for another few months:
“I’m really excited to start Avengers 2 in 2 months and get back on set. We’re going to meet in London and shoot there for 4 months, so I’m excited to get back together with everyone and catch up.”
While the bulk of the filming will take place in London, as the actor points out, this final chapter in Marvel’s Phase Two will truly be a global endeavor as Whedon will take his crew to the likes of Italy, South Korea, Africa, and the United States before the final product is in the can and ready for its 2015 release.
With all the excitement surrounding ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ on top of cameras rolling on ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’, how excited are you about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
