Ever since ‘The Walking Dead‘ first showed Norman Reedus, he has quickly become a fan favorite as Daryl Dixon. Now he’s set to work on another Robert Kirkman project! The science fiction thriller ‘Air’ has a couple cast members announced but the most exciting is Reedus taking up another role in this upcoming post apocalyptic film. With Kirkman having truly put the spotlight on Reedus in a way that even his success from ‘The Boondock Saints’ wasn’t able to do, you can’t help but be excited to see what else we’ll be getting out of the star.
Reedys will be joining Djimon Hounsou (‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘, ‘Seventh Son‘) in this low budget film centering on a set of survivors living in an underground cryogenic facility after a nuclear fall-out has decimated the Earth. Our two leads that have been cast are the two custodial workers who keep the cryogenically sleeping personnel alive. Their goal is to re-establish society once the fallout has cleared, though things might not go that great for them as the two start having issues keeping themselves sane while also maintaining the fragile environment that is keeping everyone alive. What kind of mischief do you think that these two are going to end up getting into in order to keep themselves entertained?
If the plot at all sounds familiar, that would be due to being originally titled ‘Wake Cycle’ and the rights at one point lapsed before falling into Kirkman’s lap. ‘Air’ is co-written by Christian Cantamessa (‘Red Dead Redemption’, ‘Manhunt’) and Chris Pasetto (‘How I Survived the Zombie Apocalypse’) and will be Cantamessa’s full length directorial debut.
