This is both theory and potentially spoiler filled, so if you haven’t seen the end of ‘Thor: The Dark World’ and watched the first of two Easter Eggs that popped up in the credits, you might want to turn back now. There was a brief glimmer of a hint within on a future character who might just be popping up in a future movie.

Still here? OK, you’ve either seen it or don’t mind the potential spoilers!

Shortly after seeing ‘Thanos in the end credits of ‘The Avengers’, long time Marvel readers started wondering if we would also be seeing the one man who constantly takes him down, Adam Warlock. As the movies have progressed and we’ve been giving teases of the Infinity Gems being put together, it seems even more likely we would be seeing the character.

However, have we already been given a super earlier sneak preview of him without even realizing it?

In the scene where Sif and Volstagg are delivering Benicio Del Toro’s the Collector an infinity gem for safeguarding, we see what could be an item that looks awfully familiar. While there are a slew of potential Marvel tie-ins that could pop up once we actually have a chance to look at his collection, there is one piece that truly stands out. It’s something that looks like, well, a cocoon.

What could a cocoon have to do with anything? Well if it’s the tie in that many suspect, it could be this:

That’s right! Adam Warlock’s cocoon. If that’s what it actually is, it makes perfect sense to have him start popping up. Over the years Adam Warlock has stopped Thanos on numerous occasions. Not only that but he has wielded the Infinity Gauntlet himself. Before and after that event, he has both lived in and been the carrier of the Soul Stone. To top it off, he had also been a member of the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘. In the movie, the Guardians are going to have something that everyone wants and will meet up with The Collector. Could they, in fact, have one of the Infinity Gems? Could it specifically be the Soul Stone and tie in directly to this cocoon we’ve just seen?

It’s, of course, too early to tell but knowing that Marvel has been enjoying planning big and has been pushing the galactic films, this would be the perfect opportunity to bring in one of their more powerful heavy hitters. Or at least start teasing him to bring him about for the final showdown with The Mad Titan.

What do you think? Is this a lead in to Adam Warlock being revealed down the line? Just a tease for fans who might recognize it? Or are we all way off base and this is something else entirely or was just there to look cool? Sound off below as I’d love to hear your thoughts!
