Each time we’ve seen Hugh Jackman don the claws and the chops of Wolverine onscreen, he hasn’t really looked like the hero we’ve come to know and love from the pages of Marvel Comics. But a recently leaked deleted scene seems to indicate that Logan’s classic costume was meant to make an appearance in ‘The Wolverine’.

Back in September, a still of Weapon X’s most famous outfit made it’s way around the internet courtesy of a prop maker that worked on James Mangold’s follow up to the atrocious ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’, but it was pulled almost as fast as it was posted. But seeing as we didn’t see it in the final theatrical version of the film, the costume was assumed to be left on the cutting room floor. Now, we have confirmation that the brown and yellow suit was indeed included in a deleted scene because the clip meant to be included on the home release of the movie has leaked online. You can see the alternate version of Logan’s goodbye to Mariko and her parting gift to him in the video below:

It’s unfortunate that this little tidbit didn’t make it in the movie as comic book fans would have gone nuts for this, but it probably didn’t fit in with the current direction of Fox and Bryan Singer’s X-movie universe, which we’ll be visiting again in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’. However, with the recent news of Mangold returning for a sequel, maybe Wolverine could slip into his iconic colors some time in the future.

Would you have liked to see this scene included in ‘The Wolverine’? Do you think that we’ll be seeing it in the costume in a film at some point in the future? Let us know in the comment section.
