It appears that things aren’t going so smoothly for Jane Foster and Thor! While the shot of Jane slapping Loki in memory of “New York” has been widely circulated in the trailer, it looks like Jane’s gone a little slap-happy in the second movie. Stars Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman discuss the rocky road their characters have gone down since the peachy keen ending of the first movie. (Note that Portman didn’t appear in person in ‘The Avengers’ movie.)

So it looks like this movie is juggling many different elements, cosmic adventure, humor and romance.
Here is the movie’s official plot synopsis:
‘Thor: The Dark World’ continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s Thor and Marvel’s The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness.
