Do you ever wonder what if the Doctor exists and walks among us? That ‘Torchwood’ is real and the television show ‘Doctor Who’ is just an elaborate cover up? If the answer to that is yes, ever wonder who he might be?
Well, in the grand tradition of me not wanting to discern between fact and fiction, let me tell you exactly who I think the Doctor is. Last month I told you who I thought the Ninth Doctor was in real life. Well, this month I’ve chosen someone just as worthy.
Tenth Doctor: Brian Cox
I think the very fact that both the 10th Doctor and Brian Cox indulge in geek chic as their personal style alone means that they are obviously the same person, but I probably should elaborate more by first telling you who Brian Cox is. After all, he’s more than just impeccable hair and converse shoes!
If you watch science shows, you are probably not a stranger to this very handsome man. He is well-known for being a popularizer of science, and he routinely appears on British panel shows and anything having to do with space on the Discovery channel. He’s massively intelligent, very good-looking, and pretty much every other descriptor you can think of that would describe David Tennant’s Doctor.
Though, I’m pretty sure that the Tenth Doctor was never in a band that made charts in the UK, so at least Cox has got that on his counterpart.
But really, Doctor or no, he would know his way around a TARDIS, as this video clearly indicates:
Did you see that? He’s even dismissive of archeologists and talks about the wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey aspect of time! How Doctor-like is that?
And if that’s not enough, Cox, and Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) have wandered around CERN together! The podcast is super interesting, so I suggest you listen to it if you have extra time. And in case you didn’t know, ‘Torchwood‘ totally takes place in CERN in the radio drama ‘Lost Souls’, and as far as I’m concerned ‘Torchwood’ is totally and completely real. So… Cox is definitely the Doctor.
