NBC’s new ten-part ‘Dracula’ series debuts on October 25th at 10p.m. ET. The network has already released a flurry of photos and videos to hype the show. Now here comes one more!
This stunning behind-the-scenes glimpse, officially labeled as ‘The Making of Dracula’, floods the eyes with lavish, ornate sets and intricate, gorgeous costumes. It’s amazing to drink it all in, while the cast gives additional insight into all the hard work that has clearly gone into making this program something truly special. (Let’s just hope the script is as good!)
This appears to be a new story, employing the characters from Bram Stoker’s classic horror novel as well as the many cinematic adaptations. In this version, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers plays the famous Count, masquerading as an American, visiting London to promote the new technology of electricity. Unlike in previous tales, in this one, Dracula teams up with his enemy Van Helsing to battle an even greater evil, The Order of the Dragon.
The video features interviews with cast members who all remark on the quality of the series and give insight into their experiences working on the impressive-looking show, including Rhys Meyers who plays Vlad Tepes, aka Alexander Grayson (his ‘American’ identity), aka Dracula; Oliver Jackson-Cohen as Jonathan Harker; Katie McGrath as Lucy Westenra; Nonso Anozie as R.M. Renfield; Thomas Kretschmann as Abraham Van Helsing; Victoria Smurfit as leather-clad vampire slayer Lady Jane; and Jessica De Gouw as Mina Murray, Dracula’s one temptation.

I should probably note that the sets and costumes aren’t the only gorgeous things in the clip. The cast might be the prettiest on TV!
What do you think? Are you planning to check out ‘Dracula’ when it debuts?
