Many Marvel fans are buzzing about ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, but mostly because they know very little about it. Even fans of the comics aren’t exactly sure what to expect since the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe isn’t an area that’s explored frequently by every reader. But luckily the cast is out and about a bit talking about the movie and the parts they play. The latest piece of the puzzle comes to us from former ‘Doctor Who’ companion, Karen Gillan.

While promoting her new romantic comedy ‘Not Another Happy Ending’, the actress talked a bit about playing Nebula in the James Gunn’s upcoming Phase Two film. In the first video, she uses some colorful adjectives to describe her villainous character in the movie. She also talks a little bit about the new look she had to take on for the role and what made this movie stand out from the other Marvel movies we’ve seen so far:

In the next video, after discussing her character in her new film, Gillan talks more about going bald over using a bald cap, what Marvel did with her hair after they shaved it, and the 50th Anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’ coming later this fall:

What do you think about Karen Gillan’s description of her character in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’? What do you think of her enthusiasm to shave her head for the role rather than to use a bald cap? Are you excited to see her tackle a character very different from Amy Pond as she takes on the persona of the deadly assassin and space pirate, Nebula? Let’s hear what you have to say in the comments below.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ starring Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Lee Pace, Glenn Close, John C. Reilly, Karen Gillan, Benicio Del Toro, and Michael Rooker blasts off on August 1st, 2014.
