In a recent interview with Yahoo, screenwriter David S. Goyer teased fans about the upcoming Batman’ vs. Superman’ film when he commented “One of the things that has been fun for us, is we’re a bit a further along than what I think people realize.”

While the ending of ‘Man of Steel‘ has divided fans of the DC superhero, Goyer admits that he is mindful of fan reaction but can’t let that dictate the story he writes:

“From a fan point of view we’re conscious of that when you’re working on these things, but you can’t let yourself be paralyzed by that.  At the end of the day, you still have to create something. And if you try and think, ‘Well what would the fans like?’ then you stop being creative. It’s sort of like, ‘Where does it end?’ You have to write the story that you want to write, and hope that people want to see it.”

Not to spoil things, but when asked who would actually win in a battle between the two iconic heroes, he replied “Most comic book purists would say Batman, because he is the ultimate strategist. Even though it makes no sense whatsoever. If Superman just flicked his finger, Batman would be done for.”

In other news, Warner Brothers has issued a cryptic casting call that many fans are speculating indicates that a certain other icon will be part of the mix in this upcoming film.  They are looking for a woman between 25 and 33 (or that at least looks the part) and must be physically strong.  And the part is classified as a “Lead.”

Warner Brothers is not confirming that the part is that of Wonder Woman, but they aren’t denying it either.  They’re strictly keeping mum, so that begs the question, why so secretive?  And if it is Wonder Woman, how long to they think they’ll be able to keep that under wraps?

A few weeks ago, word was they were looking for a female of any race for a role that many assumed was a love interest, most likely for Bruce Wayne/Batman, but that I pointed out could secretly be Wonder Woman, so this just adds fuel to that rumor.

Would you like to see Wonder Woman added to this movie?  Or is that too many heroes?

The ‘Man of Steel’ sequel features the return of Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne with Ben Affleck making his debut as Batman/Bruce Wayne.  The film hits theaters July 17, 2015.
