‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ won’t hit theaters until next spring, but will it just be a set-up for the epic third film?  It certainly sounds that way, as all indications point toward the wall-crawler facing off against not one, not two, not even three super villains, but six!  The Sinister Six to be exact.

Spoiler Warning!

Though this has been rumored for some time now, it seems Jamie Foxx (Electro) has spilled that this is something that has been discussed.  While promoting ‘White House Down’, he was asked about the possibility and he confirmed that The Sinister Six was brought up before.  “Yes, they actually talked about it, the Sinister Six.  So, fingers crossed, because when you think about it, electricity never dies, it just goes to a different place.”

(Did he just spoil the ending to ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’?)

In the same interview, Foxx’s co-star Channing Tatum expressed interest in jumping into the super hero game, portraying the Cajun X-Man, Gambit, citing his upbringing in and around New Orleans, the hero’s hometown.  (Tatum will come close, providing the voice of Superman in next year’s ‘The Lego Movie’.)  Tatum notes that Gambit is a thief who skirts the line between hero and criminal.

The pair, unfortunately will not cross over, as Sony owns the rights to Spider-Man and his world, while the rights to the X-Men remain at Fox.

At any rate, check out the interview for yourself below:
