James Gunn’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ has been filming for a little bit now. During this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, they took a break from day 13 or 14 to attend the Marvel panel in Hall H, but right after, the whole cast hopped back on a plane across the pond to keep working. While fans attending the con got to see the first footage from the upcoming Phase Two film, everyone else only got to see new concept art of the team. But now, we get our first real look at the movie as the first behind the scenes photo has been uncovered.

Dave Bautista, the former WWE Champion and current Drax the Destroyer, tweeted out from his personal account the following image of himself in a giant tank of water. While not describing the scene that they’re shooting at all, he did mention in his tweet that there was some fun and games going on with his director. Below, you can see the tweet followed by the first picture from ‘Guardians’:

I’m going to take a shot in the dark here and say that they’re shooting a scene that’s meant to be in outer space. Filmmakers can give off the illusion of the weightlessness of space in water, so maybe that’s what they’re doing here. Of course, I have no way to prove this. I’m just giving an educated guess (or a smart-ass solution, depending on how you read the first sentence of this paragraph).

What do you think about the first shot from ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’? Do you have any guesses as to what they’re filming? Let us know in the comments.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ starring Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Lee Pace, Glenn Close, John C. Reilly, Karen Gillan, Benicio Del Toro, and Michael Rooker blasts off on August 1st, 2014.
