Based on Joseph Delaney’s Young Adult fantasy series ‘The Wardstone Chronicles’, ‘Seventh Son’ is (optimistically) the first film adaptation in a series from Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures. The film stars Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore and Ben Barnes and is due to hit theaters on January 14th, 2014.
The film was originally due out this year, but was inexplicably moved to early next. Apple Trailers has the exclusive first US trailer which will unspool on the big screen this weekend before showings of WB/Legendary’s potential hit ‘Pacific Rim‘, but you don’t have to wait until then to see it as we have that and the international trailer right here!
Synopsis:
An evil is about to be unleashed that will reignite the war between the forces of the supernatural and humankind. Master Gregory (Bridges), the last of the Falcon Knights, had imprisoned the powerful witch, Mother Malkin (Moore), many years ago. But now she has escaped and is seeking vengeance. Summoning her followers, Mother Malkin is preparing to unleash her wrath on an unsuspecting world. Only one thing stands in her way: Master Gregory.
In addition, Apple has the first poster, featuring this imposing image of Jeff (The Dude) Bridges in a rare action hero role as Master Gregory. (I expect all of the major characters will get a solo poster.) Check it out!
Looks pretty good! I’m really intrigued by Bridges in this role, which is much different from anything he’s ever done!
