For all you people out there who thought that we were in the clear from facing the end of the world, it turns out that you were wrong… kinda. 2012 may have come and gone, but the end is near for some of the biggest names in Hollywood they meet the apocalypse in the new film ‘This Is The End’, which finds a group of celebrities trapped in James Franco’s house after a night of partying which soon turns into some devastating catastrophic event.

Based on the short film from Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel titled ‘Jay and Seth Vs. The Apocalypse’, this film features Rogen, Baruchel, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Jonah Hill, and James Franco and their famous friends playing fictional versions of themselves as the world falls apart around them. Initially spawned from the idea that it would be “funny to see really famous people die in super graphic ways”, Rogen and writing partner Evan Goldberg make their directorial debut for this apocalyptic sci-fi horror comedy.

In anticipation for the film’s release next week, Sony has released five brand new clips from the movie. A number of them feature the core gang preparing for survival, but in one clip, a battered Emma Watson drops in to give them an idea of what’s going on in the world. You can see all the clips in the video below courtesy of Collider:

If there’s one thing that Rogen and Goldberg know, it’s how to make an audience laugh. I know that I wasn’t expecting that last clip at all, so I’m really looking forward to seeing it in the context of the film.
