A few days ago, we got the wonderful news that Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ got picked up for a series order by ABC. Honestly, we all knew that it was coming, but it was nice to hear it officially. Then, shortly after the announcement, we got our first look at the series during the season finale of ‘Once Upon A Time’. Now that the floodgates have been opened, we’ve got a whole mess of news about Marvel Studios’ first live-action TV show set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

First, we have a day and time for when we can tune in to see Agent Phil Coulson as he lives once again and is in charge of his own team. ABC has announced at their Upfronts presentation that the show will find a home on Tuesday nights at 8:00pm this fall. There’s no word yet about the date the show will premiere or how many episodes were ordered for the inaugural season, but all that will come in due time.

Most networks haven’t released their 2013-2014 Fall Schedules yet, but based on last year’s line up, Coulson and company don’t have much competition in their timeslot except for ‘NCIS’ on CBS. The long-running procedural drama is the most watched TV series in the United States, which presents quite the challenge for the freshman series on ABC. However, it is spinning off from the third highest grossing movie of all time, so if any show had a chance at surviving against the show with 10 seasons and counting, I think that it can be ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’, especially in the golden key demographic of ages 18-49. Since the new show has the built in Marvel audience already, while ‘NCIS’ may have the most viewers, Joss Whedon’s show might score the most desired viewers.

Along with this report of a timeslot, the network has also released a number of promotional images, stills from the show, a behind the scenes shot of executive producer and director Joss Whedon (as seen above), and a new teaser featuring Agent Coulson’s precious Lola.

First up is the video. When I first saw this car in the preview on Sunday, I had a thought. In the comic book ‘Secret Avengers’, where Coulson regularly appears, he has been known to break out Nick Fury’s red flying spy car for his own use during missions (and probably afterwards too). I’m hoping that Whedon has brought that particular vehicle to life in his new show, but even if it doesn’t fly, it’s a cool looking ride for everyone’s favorite S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. You can see the short teaser below:

Now for the pictures. When the greenlight announcement was made, we got our first cast photo from the show, but now we get to take a closer look at each of the cast members individually. In the gallery below, you can see character photos featuring Brett Dalton, Ming-Na Wen, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Chloe Bennet, and, of course, Clark Gregg:

What do you think of the spot designated on the fall line-up for ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’? Do you think that it’ll fair well on Tuesday nights? Share your thoughts and let us know if you plan on tuning in the comment section.
