Earlier this week, I put together a list of cast members for Bryan Singer’s ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ because there’s just so many characters in the X-Men film universe to keep track of. At this point, it’s hard to remember who will be in the movie and who won’t be. Well, four days later and my list is already obsolete because the director has just revealed that he’s made a few more additions to the cast.

On his personal Twitter, which is the place to get the most up to date announcements for the latest film in the X-Men franchise, Singer shared the following post:

Along with that post came a picture of headshots on a wall indicating the cast of the film. While many of those pictures are very recognizable, some are harder to identify right off the bat. Here’s an enlarged version of the picture from the post:

From left to right, you’re looking at Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (Charles Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Erik Lensherr), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Peter Dinklage, Halle Berry (Storm), Ellen Page (Shadowcat), Shawn Ashmore (Bobby Drake), Omar Sy, Anna Paquin (Rogue), Daniel Cudmore (Colossus), Fan Bingbing, and Booboo Stewart.

For those keeping score, the newest additions to the incredibly star-studded cast are the final three. Previously seen in ‘X2: X-Men United’ and ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’, Daniel Cudmore will be reprising his role as Piotr Rasputin, the metallic mutant known as Colossus. According to Deadline, ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ star Fan Bingbing will be playing Blink, a mutant with the ability to teleport herself and others at will. Without Nightcrawler or Azazel on the roster, I’m guessing that Singer needed at least one teleporter, so Clarice Ferguson looks to be it. And the last new addition is Booboo Stewart, who is best known for his role as werewolf Seth Clearwater in ‘The Twilight Saga’. Along with other newcomers Peter Dinklage and Omar Sy, we have yet to learn who Stewart will be playing or which version of the X-Men he’ll be dealing with. The only Asian X-Man that I could think of is Jubilee, but since I highly doubt that Booboo would be taking up that mantle, after doing some research, it’s possible that he could be playing Sunfire, a temperamental and arrogant mutant who converts solar radiation into plasma.

Aside from the new cast members, I also notice that there are still six slots left on the wall. Bryan Singer couldn’t have left those spots unoccupied for no reason. With Cudmore returning, maybe we’ll see even more returning members to the team from the original movies such as Ben Foster’s Angel or James Mardsen’s Cyclops. Maybe we’ll see members of the First Class like Banshee and Havok return. Or, something that I find being the least likely of all, maybe we’ll see Taylor Kitsch’s Gambit make an appearance.

Who else do you think the director could be adding to the cast to fill those spots on the wall? What do you think of the additions of Colossus and Blink to the cast? Do you have any theories as to who Booboo Stewart will be playing in the film? Go on and chime in with your thoughts in the comment section.

‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ hits theaters on July 18, 2014.
