With only 2 months to go before ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ energizes into theaters, expect to be bombarded (in a good way) with a plethora of images, clips and stories to come your way. Already we’ve heard that our friends across the pond will be seeing the film before US audiences, but at least now we get to see a little bit of what they’ll be experiencing as Paramount has released a third trailer for the film!
There’s lots of new footage to be seen, and while the other two previous trailers were more action and serious in nature, this one does include some lighthearted clips that we’ve come to associate with the series.
The one thing that does stand out with this trailer is Abrams’ nods to other sci-fi films. In one scene, Kirk has a costume and helmet reminiscent to the film ‘Tron’ and, of course, there’s the obvious nod to ‘Star Wars’ – do you think he knew about his Disney gig before the company let it be publically known? Hm…
Anyway, each time I think I can’t get more excited about ‘Star Trek Into Darkness,’ something new is released that makes me crazy with the anticipation for its release!

Directed by J.J. Abrams, ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Alice Eve, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood and Peter Weller. The film will be released in IMAX theaters on May 15, 2013 and on May 17th everywhere else in the U.S.
