Fox’ decision to hire Mark Millar to oversee their Marvel properties seems to be paying off. Not only has the lauded comic book writer making sure that there is cohesiveness among the films but it looks like he’s also making sure fans know that the job is getting done!

In a tweet on Friday, February 22, Millar announced that Vaughn will be on board as producer for the upcoming ‘Fantasic Four’ reboot:

This is exciting news as Vaughn has a lot of experience when it comes to the world of superheroes. He helmed and wrote the screenplay for ‘X-Men: First Class’ as well as the first ‘Kick-Ass’ movie and while he handed the director’s chair to Bryan Singer for ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’, he still continues to wear the producer’s hat on the film. Having him produce ‘Fantastic Four’ is a wonderful way to keep the Marvel properties “within the family”.

‘Fantastic Four’ is a valuable property for the studio and while the first film and its sequel, ‘The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer’, earned $600 million worldwide, critically it bombed with the fans.

Now that Vaughn is on board, expect to start seeing more news about the project in the coming months. Meanwhile, Josh Trank is still attached to direct the reboot and the film is slated for a 2015 release.
