While the feature film sequel to ‘Zombieland’ seems to have hit the skids, the small screen attempt by Amazon is moving forward at full speed. Last week it was announced that Tyler Ross and Izabela Vidovic have signed on to play Columbus and Little Rock, respectively. Now it seems producers have found their leading lady and it’s Maiara Walsh.Walsh is very familiar to Disney fans as she played the role of Meena Paroom on the series ‘Cory in the House.’ She’s also been seen on ‘Desperate Housewives’ and most recently the ABC Family original series ‘Switched at Birth.’

On ‘Zombieland’, Walsh will take over the role that was played by Emma Stone, the tough, sarcastic con-woman Witchita who, with her younger sister Little Rock, meet Columbus and Tallahassee and travel with them.

Walsh may have some hard shoes to fill as Stone was rather exceptional in the feature film role as she was paired against the awkwardness of Jesse Eisenberg’s Columbus and held her own with the abundant snarkiness of Harrelson’s Tallahassee. With Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, the original scribes of the movie, working on the scripts for the series, it’s unlikely the character will change much so it will be interesting to see Walsh’s interpretation of the role.

Now that 3 of the 4 leads have been cast, the announcement of who will be playing the role of Tallahassee is expected any day now. Much like the role of Wichita, Tallahassee will one that fans will closely scrutinized.

So do you think Walsh has what it takes to be Wichita? Let us know in the comments below!
