When one hears the phrase “Suit up!” in reference to a superhero movie, one would assume that the hero is putting on his uniform in preparation for battle. However, in the newest photos from James Mangold’ upcoming X-Men film ‘The Wolverine’, “Suit up!” is spoken in the Barney Stinson/Neil Patrick Harris from ‘How I Met Your Mother’ sense of the phrase.

In the latest issue of Empire Magazine (via Collider), we get to see a classier side of the feral mutant Logan played by Academy Award nominee Hugh Jackman. Sporting a rather dashing black on black suit, you’ll notice that Wolverine’s claws are out and ready for battle, so it’s likely that the suit won’t retain it’s stylishness for much longer.

Additionally, the magazine provides a behind the scenes picture where we see Jackman looking more like the Wolverine we’re used to seeing, marching with a purpose with his claws out and a snarl on his face.

You can check out both photos below, followed by a synopsis of the film:

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

‘The Wolverine’ starring Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, and Brian Tee will be in theaters on July 26, 2013.
