February is just a few weeks away and that means it’s a few weeks before ‘The Walking Dead’ returns to finish the last half of Season 3! To tease fans as to what’s in store for the group of zombie apocalypse survivors, AMC has released a clip and a promo for the return of the series.
If you recall, in the mid-season finale, “Made to Suffer,” things were looking bleak for Rick and his gang and it looked like it wasn’t going to get any better. The clip below picks up exactly right after fan favorite Daryl (Norman Reedus) and his irascible brother, Merle, are about to meet their maker at the hands of an angry Woodbury mob. Of course, the Governor (sporting a new pirate look due to an encounter with Michonne) is happy to comply with his people. In the clip below, Laurie finally steps up as she fights her way through the crowd to stop the madness.
Of course this is just a teaser clip and only 60 seconds long so we won’t know if the Governor will listen to Laurie or if she will be included in what seems to be the execution of the Dixon brothers.
Meanwhile, AMC rang in the New Year with a ‘Walking Dead’ marathon and premiered a new teaser promo for the second half of the season. Things won’t be getting better soon as a whole new side of the Governor will be emerging as was seen in the clip above. According to Robert Kirkland, there’s still more terrors to be had from the man:
“We haven’t seen him activated to the extent that he’s going to be activated in the back half of the season. He’s going to be much more engaged and a little bit more aware of the threat that the prison represents. He’s going to be on the warpath.” [Movie Line]
As for Rick, losing his wife and the continued stress of not only surviving but being the leader of the pack is getting to him. “He’s a person who’s bearing the weight of everyone’s survival on his shoulders, and I think that’s become a little bit unbearable,” Kirkman said. “He’s certainly spiraling out of control. And now he’s starting to see [dead people]. It’s definitely a real problem.”
