Following yesterday’s first official image of Angelina Jolie as the sinister Maleficent in Disney’s new ‘Wicked’-esque origin story, today we have some pictures from the set across the pond in London, courtesy of Collider, featuring the horny actress conversing with crew members and other horned beasts.
Entertainment Weekly also caught up with the actress to chat about her upcoming role. It’s hard to believe that one of the most feared and hated beings in the entire Disney universe can be found likable, but the actress is hoping to bring out some of those qualities in the character. She says:
“I hope in the end you see a woman who is capable of being many things, and just because she protects herself and is aggressive, it doesn’t mean she can’t have other [warmer] qualities. You have to figure out the puzzle of what she is.
It sounds really crazy to say that there will be something that’s good for young girls in this, because it sounds like you’re saying they should be a villain. [Maleficent] is actually a great person. But she’s not perfect. She’s far from perfect.”
I’m not sure how great a person Maleficent can be, but then again we all thought the same thing about the Wicked Witch of the West. Check out the set photos below, following a synopsis of the movie.
