Making the rounds today is the first clip from Peter Berg’s big budget film ‘Battleship’.
The clip expands on the scenes from the trailer with the metallic alien balls coming out from the monolith that suddenly arose from the sea. It shows how much devastation these balls can really do!
What may strike you first is how very ‘Transformers’-like this movie looks. Michael Bay is a producer on the film so that may explain the heavy influence. The clip reminds me a lot of ‘Independence Day’ with the destruction of the military base. After all is said and done, the movie obviously has some big money tied into it. The effects alone on this clip is pretty impressive! Just hope for Taylor Kitsch’s sake ‘Battleship’ doesn’t go the same way as ‘John Carter’.
‘Battleship’ First Clip:
‘Battleship’ stars Liam Neeson, Taylor Kitsch ( ‘John Carter’), Alexander Skarsgard (‘True Blood’), Rihanna, Jesse Plemons (‘Paul’,‘Friday Night Lights’) and Brooklyn Decker and will hits theaters on May 18th.
Janice Kay
Janice's first memories of the genre were of watching the original 'Star Trek' and classic 'Doctor Who' episodes (Tom Baker, aka the Fourth Doctor, was her first). Soon, she was introduced to 'Godzilla' and her addiction then spread to books, magazines, movies and comics. Janice continued as a closet geek as her thirst and love for sci-fi grew and was only second to her love of baking. Then one night, on a whim, she answered a tweet to be a writer for ScienceFiction.com and the geek girl insider her was soon set free. Within 3 years she became the Senior Editor for the site. When not writing or editing for ScienceFiction.com, Janice is scouring the internet to feed her sci-fi cravings while defending conspiracy theories, protecting scientific theorems and loving all things science fiction.... and baking cookies.
