Today, Paramount released a 3 episode teaser disc, in anticipation of the full release later this year, of season one of ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ on Blu-ray. Although that is news in of itself, what is more exciting is the actual trailer for the complete first season set!
The trailer is included as one of the bonus features in the sampler DVD titled ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation-The Next Level.’ Along with bonus features, this disc also contains the show’s 2 hour pilot, ‘Encounter at Farpoint’ as well as the ‘The Inner Light’ (which won a Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation) from season 5 and ‘Sins of the Father’ (which won an Emmy for Art Direction) from season 3.
Although you get some idea in ‘The Next Level’ DVD of what to expect to see when the actual season 1 set is released, it’s not until you watch the trailer below and see the full effect of the series transferred to true high definition 1080p and an audio remaster that you become blown away.
Here’s just a teaser of what to expect in the late summer/early fall when ‘ST: TNG’ in Blu-ray is released. I don’t know about you, but fall can’t come soon enough!
