The critically acclaimed new ‘Thundercats’ series took a six-week hiatus after airing only eight episodes. Fans, like myself, were a little annoyed because, just as the series, was really picking up steam, it was gone. After what seems like forever, the Thundercats are back this Friday, October 28th, with a new episode titled ‘Berbils’.
The name “Berbils” should sound familiar to fans of the original series from the 80s. The berbils or ro-bear berbils are a race of cyborg teddy bear creatures that are whizzes at mechanical stuff (or “tech” in the new series’ lingo). Depending on your perspective, the original berbils were either slightly annoying or one of the creepiest things ever put on children’s television.
This clip from the upcoming episode makes the berbils seem less cheesy and/or creepy than they used to be. What do you think? Berbils still give you the willies or make you want to claw your eyes out? Me? I think they’re kind of cute.
