The first trailer for the movie ‘Chronicle’ has hit the web, thanks to MTV!

Dubbed as the “Cloverfield of superhero movies”, this film uses the found footage style seen in such movies as ‘Paranormal Activity’, ‘Apollo 18’ and ‘Blair Witch Project.’ ‘Chronicle’ is about three high school boys who develop superpowers after being exposed to a mysterious object. They do what normal high school boys do with newfound abilities and mess around while testing what they are capable of doing. As they learn to control their superpowers and use them for personal gain, their lives start to spin out of control with one of them take things a little too far.

‘Chronicle’ is directed by Josh Trank (‘Big Fan’) and written by Max Landis (director John Landis’ son). It stars Dane DeHaan (‘True Blood’, ‘In Treatment’), Michael B. Jordan (‘Parenthood’), Alex Russell (‘Bait’) and Michael Kelly (‘Adjustment Bureau’).

Even if you’re not a fan of the found footage method, the trailer is a great tease for the movie. Mainly because I can see actual teenagers do some of the horseplay that is shown on the film if they really did develop superpowers. What do you think? Take a look at the trailer below and let me
know!

‘Chronicle’ will hit theaters on February 3, 2012.
