In 2009, Warner Brothers and Rocksteady Games created what the Guinness Book of World records named the ‘most critically acclaimed superhero game ever’ in ‘Batman: Arkham Asylum’!

This October, WB Games plans to take the award winning stealth and action formula of ‘Arkham Asylum’ to the next level in ‘Batman: Arkham City’. The Joker, after nearly being killed at the end of the previous game, has returned and unleashed all of the inmates of Arkham Asylum onto the unsuspecting city of Gotham and it’s up to Batman to bring order to the chaos that the city has become.

In the first installment of the game series, Batman faced off against Scarecrow, Killer Croc, Harley Quinn, Bane, Poison Ivy, Mr. Zsasz, and of course the Joker. As the sequel’s release date edges closer, WB Games has been releasing details on what villains will show up this go ‘round. Aside from the returning jocular psychopath team of Joker and Harley Quinn from the first game, we’ve so far seen Two-Face, Catwoman, The Riddler, Hugo Strange and, most recently, the Penguin (check out our coverage here).

Today, WB released another teaser trailer that reveals the icy villain Mr. Freeze will also appear in ‘Arkham City’.  The footage reveals Freeze demanding that Batman return his long lost wife Nora to him. Whether this will result in a mission to find Nora or a showdown with Freeze has yet to be seen. Mr. Freeze will be voiced by Maurice LaMarche (‘Futurama’) and join returning cast members Kevin Conroy  as Batman and Mark Hamill as the Joker.

‘Batman: Arkham City’ releases on October 18, 2011 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Games for Windows.
