Back in February of this year, I reviewed the independent comic book Genecy #1 from InVision Comics. Along with the review, we posted links and information about InVision’s  Kickstarter pledge drive to make the next issue Genecy #2 a reality.

Sunday May 8, 2011 was the deadline to pledge money for Genecy #2 through Kickstarter.com.  InVision’s goal was to reach $4000 in pledges. Unfortunately, InVision did not reach their goal or even come anywhere close to it.

What does all of this mean?

Well, besides my original review being spot on, If pledging does not reach the established goal then none of the money is collected. This may mean the end of Genecy.

After reading my original review, I’m sure you can see I was not a fan of the first issue. But, it doesn’t mean I don’t think it can’t be a better story with additional material or a continuation of the story. However, it looks like the folks at InVision will need to find another way to make it happen after not reaching their $4000 goal.

If for some reason you are interested in a book about “Conan becoming the Silver Surfer after being a slave on Apokolips”, you should check out InVision Comics on the web, Facebook or Twitter to see what you can do to help get Genecy #2 back on track.
