According to Deadline, Anchor Bay has picked up the U.S. rights to director Xavier Gens (‘Hitman’, ‘Frontier(s)’) post-apocalyptic thriller ‘The Divide’ for a low seven-figures. Deals for several other territories beyond the U.S. are currently in negotiations.

The film made its world premiere Sunday night at midnight at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. The tough-as-nails film was well received at its premiere and quick negotiations ensued.

‘The Divide’ is a post-apocalyptic ‘Lord of the Flies’ set in the basement apartment of a New York building. The film stars Michael Biehn (‘The Terminator’, ‘Aliens’), Milo Ventimiglia (‘Heroes’, ‘Gilmore Girls’), Michael Eklund (‘Watchmen’, ‘Fringe’), Rosanna Arquette (‘Crash’, ‘Medium’), Courtney B. Vance (‘FlashForward’, ‘ER’) and Lauren German (‘Human Target’, ‘Hostel: Part II’).
