Paramount Pictures will release four of the studio’s tent-pole films with 3D in IMAX theaters in 2011.

‘Super 8’, the science fiction collaboration between director J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg, will be released in theaters on June 10.

The second ‘Transformers’ sequel, ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ will crash into theaters on July 1. Originally shot in 3D, it will be digitally remastered for IMAX’s format to be presented in IMAX 3D. “The Autobots learn of a Cybertronian spacecraft hidden on the Moon, and race against the Decepticons to reach it and learn its secrets, which could turn the tide in the Transformers’ final battle.”

‘Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol’, the fourth chapter in the film franchise will slip into theaters on December 16. Featuring scenes shot with IMAX cameras, certain sequences will expand on the IMAX screens to further immerse audiences.

Also originally shot in 3D and to be remastered for IMAX 3D, ‘The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn’ will hit theaters on December 28.
