Nintendo has released a statement warning parents that children six-years-old or younger should not use the new 3DS handheld in 3D mode. Because the use of artificial 3D can possibly affect the healthy development of children’s eyes, the 3DS should only be used in 2D mode.
The company also stated that adults should limit their exposure to 3D mode for no more than 30 minutes at a time.
The device will be available in February in Japan and March for the U.S. and Europe.
