Zombieland

A quite popular rumor had been making the rounds lately that the sequel to ‘Zombieland’ would be ‘Zombieland Too,’ but don’t get too attached to that title. Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were asked about the movie and were quick to share that this wasn’t the name. Not only that, but they spoke about how often these rumors become news even when incredibly wrong.

The question came up when they were promoting ‘Wayne’ which is their new YouTube Premium series. Reese shared that, “Yeah, that’s not the title. I don’t know why that’s on IMDB. Sometimes we just scratch our heads over how things like that happen.” When asked if he could speak as to the official title he went on to say that “We do have a title, but we can’t share it yet. But it’s not Zombieland Too.”

So often a title can give away a moment of an aspect of a film and as the plot is still under wraps, it isn’t a surprise that it was too early to share. I do suspect that we won’t have to wait as long as we did on ‘Avengers: Endgame to find out what the title will be,’ but with the movie coming out in October, it might feel that way.

As to how they feel about returning to the world they helped create in ‘Zombieland,’ Reese shared:

“It’s a blast to get that particular band back together. A lot of people who worked on Zombieland, including us, think of it as one of their favorite formative projects. To be able to return, ten years later, from when the first one came out, it’s a blessing that none of us thought was going to happen. To have it come together like this, it feels like capturing lightning in a bottle.”

With the first movie having been released ten years ago there has been a lot that has changed in the real world and likely within ‘Zombieland’ as well.
