Production for DC Universe‘s ‘Stargirl‘ is ramping up as Joy Osmanski (‘Santa Clarita Diet’,’Dead Night’), Neil Hopkins (‘Lost’,’Matador’), and Nelson Lee (‘Sneaky Pete’,’Matador’) have all just been cast on the series! These three will make up the villainous group called The Injustice Society and will play Tigress, Sportsmaster, and Dragon King respectively.

DC Fans will instantly recognize this supervillain group which was created in 1947 and has taken on a variety of forms since its inception. The idea was to band together to overcome the Justice Society of America which was the first team of superheroes in the DC Universe. We’ve already known that ‘Stargirl’ will feature many classic heroes from the comics, so it is only fitting that we get some of the older villains as well.

Tigress in the series is described as someone who is “Protecting and providing for her family, Paula Brooks hunts the world’s most dangerous game – humans – as the Tigress.”

As for the Sportsmaster, Hopkins will be playing Lawrence “Crusher” Crock, aka the and “He sees his criminal pursuits as a game to win — and his competitors as targets to kill. The only thing more important to Crock than ‘the game’ is his family.”

It should be noted that in the comics Sportsmaster and Tigress eventually become married.

Finally, we have Dragon King played by Lee who is “a deadly and mysterious hooded man…this controversial scientist has been experimenting on himself and his victims since the 1940s.”

It sounds like we know who Stargirl and the JSA are primarily going to be going up against in the upcoming series!
