The cast for Netflix’s ‘Locke & Key’ is growing as both Connor Jessup (‘American Crime’) & Emilia Jones (‘Utopia’) have joined the series as Tyler & Kinsey Locke! This casting announcement is some of the first major news for the series since Netflix gave it a 10-episode season order back in July once Hulu had passed on the pilot episode. It should be noted that these cast changes are being made as Netflix wanted to start from scratch with the series. They weren’t interested in what Hulu had seen either which makes you question how well put together that pilot was.

Jessup and Jones be joining Jackson Robert Scott (‘It’) who had already been cast as Bode Locke. Scott’s take on Bode was clearly a winner as he had been set to play the character in the original Hulu iteration.

The new take on Joe Hill’s work will still be penned by the original creator but will have Aron Eli Coleite and Meredith Averill helping tackle any changes to what Hill and Carlton Cuse had done. Averill is also attached as a co-showrunner while Coleite as an Executive Producer who also helped to re-write the pilot episode.

While Andy Muschietti had directed the original pilot, his obligations on the sequel to ‘It’ will keep him too busy for creating a new one but he is still serving as an executive producer on the series.

‘Locke & Key’ is a show that has been in the works for eight years and now is finally going to be seeing the light of day. It almost doesn’t seem real that it will be entirely in production in the coming year with how many false starts that it has seen.
