Doom Patrol

Before the Doom Patrol officially moves on to their own series over on the DC Universe platform, they are first being introduced in a story-line on ‘Titans,’ as the “family” Gar takes Rachel to for refuge, introducing her to Cliff Steele aka Robotman, Larry Trainor aka Negative Man, and Rita Farr aka Elastiwoman.

In the new clip released from DC from an upcoming episode, we see the aforementioned characters sitting down to an interesting dinner, which is marred when the side-effects of one of their powers starts to act up. It is a quirky and relatively quick clip, but it does set an interesting mood for introducing the Doom Patrol characters and world-building. I am intrigued to see what else they do with the characters on ‘Titans’ before spinning them off onto their own series.

And check out the full episode synopsis below:

Now aware of Rachel’s power, Dick and Kory unite to find her. Escaped from the convent that sought to imprison her, Rachel puts her trust in Gar who reveals his own transformative powers. Seeking refuge, Gar brings Rachel home to his “family” – a group of misfit medical experiments we will come to know as The Doom Patrol (including Cliff Steele aka Robotman, Larry Trainor aka Negative Man and Rita Farr aka Elastiwoman) – in hopes of helping the girl. But what starts as a place of comfort for Rachel, soon turns dark under the scientific curiosity of The Doom Patrol’s leader Dr. Niles Caulder, whose experiment into Rachel’s powers threatens to set free a darkness, and reveal a new level of evil waiting to escape.
