Grimm

If you’ve missed the world of ‘Grimm‘ there is a reason to be excited as a new female lead spinoff is being put in production by NBC. After six seasons the original series came to a close and now the network is missing the supernatural series. The new outing is slated to be created by Universal TV and Hazy Mills Prods which is owned by Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner.

The new show was penned by Melissa Glenn (Iron Fist‘) and will put a female Grimm front and center. It will build off the mythology that has already been established in the original series. While there is no mention of who from the original series will appear, NBC has shared that the series will have fan-favorites making a comeback while introducing new characters. Also, there will, of course, be new dangers and mysteries to be solved. At this time there are no actors attached to the production, but some early talks must be in place if the studio is confident that we’ll be seeing some familiar faces.

As both David Giuntoli and Russell Hornsby who played the leads on the original series are starring in new shows, it feels unlikely that they would appear in anything past a cameo role.

Behind the scenes, we know that Glenn will be producing with Hayes and Milliner while the original series creators and showrunners David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf are slated to be consulting producers. A new showrunner has yet to be tasked with bringing the series to life.
