If you’re still one of the millions who love AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead‘ it will likely be great news for you to hear that the series is getting an extended release when Season 9 premieres. Instead of the usual hour-long run, this outing will be close to 90-minutes long!
Of course, fans of the series know what this actually means. Almost anytime we get an extended release it feels like only an extra five minutes of footage with 25 minutes of commercials.
Still, you can’t help but be excited as we’re jumping in with a year-and-a-half having passed for the survivors since “All Out War” capped out the Season 8 finale and finding out how things have changed is going to have viewers glued to their seats. I’m sure that it helps to know that this will also be the last season of Rick Grimes and every moment that Andrew Lincoln is on the screen will have fans wanting more.
The time jump will also have Maggie finally delivering her and Glen’s baby and gest us closer to the introduction of the Whisperers. However, these new villains will likely be more of a mid-season introduction as we’ll probably be seeing the seeds of a civil war planted due to the imprisonment instead of the execution of Negan at the close of the previous season.
