Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘ Season 6 premiere was pushed back to the summer and now we have confirmation on when new episodes of the series will begin airing! Elizabeth Henstridge, who plays Agent Jemma Simmons on the show, revealed on Instagram that the show will be returning in July of 2019.

Clark Gregg will be directing the Season 6 premiere episode titled “Missing Pieces” but past that, much is still unknown. This may be the last episode for Agent Coulson, or we could see Leo Fitz being retrieved from space and have to catch up on everything he missed from saving his soon-to-be wife and getting married, or we may even see the return of Deke who went missing in the season finale.

While the episode count has dropped from 22 to 13, we do know that with a July 2019 release date, it means that the series will take place after ‘Avengers 4’ so it won’t have to address half of its team suddenly disappearing. More importantly, though, the move to the summer helps the chance of a Season 7 renewal as ABC’s head Channing Dungey had previously stated:

“We’ll see [if it’s the end]. I feel like last season was our strongest creative season ever, and the fan base remains very loyal — and we do very well in delayed viewing. It’s my hope that by moving it to summer, where our live-same-day ratings are less important, and it might be able to continue for longer.”

Trust me, the fans of the show feel the same way. While all good things must come to an end, this is a show that has just gotten better with each new installment.

Are you annoyed that you have to wait until July to see the return of Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’? Do you think being able to skip the events of ‘Avengers 4’ will help the series? Share your thoughts below, True Believers!
