Qi’ra Forces Of Destiny

The ‘Star Wars’ franchise has given us no shortage of badass female characters lately, and this new short is no different! The new ‘Forces of Destiny’ short features Qi’ra kicking some major butt.

The newest short gives fans a good look at Emilia Clarke‘s character Qi’ra, along with a well-known bounty hunter that fans first met in ‘The Empire Strikes Back.’ If you’re thinking it’s Boba Fett, you’d be wrong! It is actually the robot IG-88.

The short features Qi’ra on the run from Weequay pirate Hondo Ohnaka, who is after Qi’ra and the bounty placed on her head. Hondo has joined forces with IG-88 to capture Qi’ra, but are outsmarted by her and put in chains to be turned in for the bounties on their own heads.

Here is the synopsis for the ‘Forces of Destiny’ short:

Hondo teams up with bounty hunter droid IG-88 to capture Qi’ra, but she outsmarts
both her pursuers by pitting them against each other so that she can collect the bounty
on them.

Like the rest of the shorts released for ‘Forces of Destiny,’ the storyline strays away from exploring Qi’ra’s ‘Solo’ storyline as well as any major developments in the ‘Star Wars’ timeline. The shorts serve as a fun distraction from the bigger story unfolding in the galaxy far far away, and fans get to see their favorite characters in all new situations.

‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ is currently playing in theaters. Below is the official synopsis.

Young Han Solo finds adventure when he joins a gang of galactic smugglers,
including a 196-year-old Wookie named Chewbacca. Indebted to the gangster
Dryden Vos, the crew devises a daring plan to travel to the mining planet Kessel
to steal a batch of valuable coaxium. In need of a fast ship, Solo meets Lando
Calrissian, the suave owner of the perfect vessel for the dangerous mission —
the Millennium Falcon.
